Training Groups

The South Snohomish County Dolphins offer training groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of our team is to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of their abilities.

Blue Group

This group is designed for 6, 7 and 8 year olds at the novice level.  Practices will emphasize stroke work in the 4 major strokes, streamlining, and a developing focus on stamina. Swimmers swim up to four 45 minute practices per week. Swimmers will be assigned to lanes according to ability level.

Fall training times: Monday & Wednesday 6:30-7:15pm, Tuesday & Thursday 6:15-7pm.

Bronze Group

This group is designed for 9-12 year old swimmers who have not yet entered the 7th grade with a wide-range of abilities who are only able to train two or three times per week. Practices last 75 minutes. Swimmers will be assigned to lanes according to their ability levels.

Fall training times: Tuesday & Thursday 5:30-6:45pm, Saturday 9:30-11am.

Silver Group

This group is designed for 9-12 year olds who have not yet entered 7th grade but who have achieved at least one PNS Silver time. Swimmers swim three or four scheduled 90 minute practices per week. Swimmers will be assigned to lanes according to ability levels.

Fall training times: Monday & Wednesday 6-7:30pm, Friday 6:30-8pm, Saturday 9:30-11am.

Gold Group

This group is designed for our most competitive 11-14 year old swimmers still in middle school who have achieved at least one PNS Gold time. Swimmers swim five or six scheduled 90 minute practices per week. Swimmers will be assigned to lanes according to ability levels.

Fall training times: Monday through Thursday 7-8:30pm, Friday 6:30-8pm, Saturday 9:30-11am.

Junior Group

This group is designed for 7th graders and up with some swimming experience and for swimmers who wish to stay in shape for their school teams. Swimmers swim four 90 minute practices per week.  Swimmers will be assigned to lanes according to their ability levels.

Fall training times: Monday / Wednesday / Friday 5-6:30pm, Saturday 9:30-11am.

Senior Group

This group is designed for 9th graders and up who will train for the highest levels of competition. Swimmers swim five to six scheduled practices per week with practices lasting 2 hours. Swimmers will be assigned to lanes according to ability levels.

Fall training times: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 5-7pm, Friday 4:30-6:30pm, Saturday 9-11am.

National Training Group (NTG)

This group is for the highest performing swimmers who aspire to make Junior Nationals, Nationals and/or Olympic Trials. This group swims five to six practices per week with practices lasting 2-1/2 hours. Prerequisites: excellent attendance in swimmer's previous group and a coach's recommendation.

Fall training times: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 5-7:30pm, Friday 4:30-7pm, Saturday 9-11am.

Masters Group

Swim group for swimmers ages 19 and over of all swimming ability levels. Masters swimmers may swim up to four practices per week.
