Hovis and Johnson lead Dolphins at PNS Champs

Mitch Hovis and Laura Johnson led the Dolphin’s charge at the Pacific Northwest Championships held at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center December 11-13. Over 850 swimmers from 43 western Washington clubs competed in the meet.
 
 

Hovis won the 50 yard breaststroke and 100 yard breaststroke events for the boys ten and under division, Hovis’s time of 35.67 ranks 12th in the United States this year while his time of 1:18.73 ranks 20th in the country from reported times as of December 17.
 
 

Hovis also placed second in the 100 yard individual medley with a time of 1:14.72. Hovis also placed fourth in the 50 yard backstroke at 35.50 and in the 200 yard individual medley at 2:41.58. Hovis placed eighth in the 10 yard backstroke at 1:17.92.

 

Laura Johnson,14, record Dolphin team records while placing ninth in the 100 yard backstroke and tenth in the 200 yard backstroke at 2:12.67.

 

Johnson also placed 14th in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:18.08 and 12th in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.55.

 

Emily Caley (10) competed in the 50 yard butterfly (40.39) and 100 yard freestyle (1:15.57).

 

Kyle Curtis (14) competed in the 100 yard butterfly (1:06.63) and 200 yard backstroke (2:36.88).

 

Jillian Hatfield (11) competed in the 50 yard backstroke (33.58), 200 yard backstroke (2:52.61), 100 yard backstroke (1:15.67) and 100 yard freestyle (1:19.85). Hatfield’s times in the 50 and 100 yard backstroke were personal best times.

 

Kelsey Hovis (14) competed in the 200 yard butterfly (2:49.04) 100 yard breaststroke (1:18.47), and 200 yard breaststroke (2:46.13). The 200 yard breaststroke was a personal best time.

 

Amy Pilloud (12) competed in the 50 yard breaststroke (38.97), 200 yard breaststroke (3:02.87), 50 yard freestyle (31.62), and 100 yard breaststroke (1:22.27). The 50 yard freestyle was a personal best time.

 

Marcus Satterlee (13) competed in the 100 yard backstroke (1:05.90), 200 yard butterfly (2:23.32), 50 yard freestyle (26.31), 200 yard individual medley (2:21.87), 100 yard butterfly (1:04.11), and 100 yard freestyle (57.30). Satterlee’s times in the 100 yard backstroke, 50 yard freestyle, and 200 yard individual medley were personal best times.
