Hovis Wins Ten Year Old Pentathlon; Seaberg Places Fifth

 

Mitch Hovis, 10, out swam his competitors in the 10 year old Pentathlon held December 5 at Kamiak High School Pool with a total of 3:34.10 seconds. Hovis had personal best times in the 50 yard freestyle (30.06) and 50 yard breaststroke (35.97). The breaststroke time is the 12th fastest time reported in the country thus far this season. Hovis also had first place finishes in the 50 yard backstroke (36.66), 50 yard butterfly (34.89), and 100 yard individual medley (1:16.52). Hovis improved 1.75 seconds for the meet.

 

            Stina Seaberg, 10, placed fifth in the girls 10 and under pentathlon with a total of 4:19.47 seconds. Seaberg achieved Pacific Northwest Swimming Championship times while placing first in the 50 yard freestyle (32.65) and second in the 50 yard breaststroke (43.03). Seaberg also placed sixth in the 100 yard individual medley (1:33.20). Seaberg also recorded a personal best time in the 50 yard backstroke at (45.34). Seaberg improved 3.16 seconds for the meet.

 

            Jane Calderbank, 10, placed 24th in the pentathlon event with a total of 5:03.34 seconds. Calderbank recorded personal best times in the 50 yard breaststroke (52.04)  and 100 yard individual medley (1:45.24). Calderbank improved a total of 7.88 seconds for the meet.

 

            Holly Herter, 10, recorded personal best times in the 50 yard freestyle (42.11) and 50 yard backstroke (51.35). Herter improved a total of 13.12 seconds for the meet.

 

            Charlotte Hopewell, 10, recorded a personal best time in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.66.

 

            Emma Papenhausen, 10, recorded a personal best time in the 50 yard freestyle (51.50). Papenhausen improved a total of .17 seconds for the meet.

 

            Dan Haub, 10, recorded personal best times in the 50 yard freestyle (45.78), 50 yard breaststroke (1:11.29), 50 yard backstroke (58.66), and 50 yard butterfly (1:07.05). Haub improved a total of 9.41 seconds for the meet.

 

            Conner Fitzpatrick, 10,  recorded personal best times in the 50 yard freestyle (44.58), 50 yard backstroke (47.10), 50 yard breaststroke (1:09.83), and 100 yard individual medley (2:00.51). Fitzpatrick improved a total of 9.88 seconds for the meet.

 

            Adrienna Tran-Pearson, 9, recorded personal best times in the 50 yard breaststroke (49.67) and 100 yard individual medley (1:50.50). Tran Pearson improved a total of 3.01 seconds for the meet.

 

            Conor Quinn, 9, recorded personal best times in the 50 yard freestyle (44.87), 50 yard breaststroke (1:00.96), and 50 yard butterfly (1:00.04). Quinn improved a total of 2.31 seconds for the meet.

 

            Noah Kim, (8), recorded a personal best time in the 25 yard backstroke at 25.43.

 

            Ryan Quinn, (6), swam a 28.75 in the 25 yard freestyle and 31.00 in the 25 yard backstroke.

 

            Annika Seaberg (7), recorded a personal best time in the 25 yard breaststroke (27.73). Seaberg improved a total of 1.06 seconds for the meet.
