Hovis, Hatfield, and Satterlee qualify for PNS Champs

Mitchell Hovis (10) dominated the boys ten and under division at the Fall Thunderbird held in Anacortes October 3-4 as he placed first in seven individual events. Hovis placed first in the 100 yard individual medley (1:16.94), 50 yard breaststroke (38.45), 50 yard backstroke (38.91), 50 yard butterfly (35.45), 100 yard breaststroke (1:23.52), 100 yard backstroke (1:22.34), and 100 yard butterfly (1:21.91).  Hovis also placed second in the 50 yard freestyle (32.36). All times were PNS Championship time standards which is held in December. Hovis’ time in the 50 yard breaststroke ranks fifth on the Dolphins All Time All Star list while his 100 yard breaststroke time ranks fourth.

Jillian Hatfield (11) qualified for the PNS Championships in the 100 yard backstroke while placing third in the event with a time of 1:18.32. Hatfield also placed seventh in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:55.66), sixth in the 50 yard freestyle (34.09), and sixth in the 100 yard butterfly (1:36.77).

Marcus Satterlee (13) improved his qualifying time in the 100 butterfly (1:07.93) for the PNS championships. Satterlee placed fourth in the event. Satterlee also placed sixth in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:22.26), fourth in the 50 yard backstroke (33.21), and fifth in the 50 yard freestyle (27.66).

Annika Seaberg (7) placed third in the 25 yard breaststroke (28.78), third in the 25 yard backstroke (25.96), and sixth in the 50 yard freestyle (1:05.10).

Stina Seaberg (10) placed ninth in the 100 yard individual medley (1:43.80), fourth in the 50 yard breaststroke (50.98), 13th in the 50 yard backstroke (51.63), and 11th in the 50 yard butterfly (54.59).

Jane Calderbank (10) placed 13th in the 100 yard individual medley (1:48.02), tenth in the 50 yard breaststroke (1:00.20), 15th in the 50 yard backstroke (54.91), and tenth in the 50 yard butterfly (53.80).

The next competition for the Dolphins will be held October 17-18 at Kamiak Pool.
