I’ve coached middle
and high school swimming for 17 years (not easy since I’m
only 29! haha). I currently coach the Bronze group at SSCD, and
also am the Head Coach for the Harbour Pointe Middle School Swim
Team and Assistant Coach for the Kamiak High School Boys and Girls
Swim Teams during the school year.
I enjoy coaching swimming
because it’s a dynamic sport where kids can continually
improve. I like that swimming is both a team sport with teamwork
and camaraderie and also an individual sport in which athletes are
constantly competing against their own best times.
I continue to enjoy
swimming myself and have two boys (ages 10 and 7) who swim for
SSCD. When I’m not at the pool (which is practically never!)
I enjoy reading, gardening and hanging out with the
boys.

I began swimming at age 6
and continued until my high school senior year when a shoulder
injury requiring surgery forced me to stop swimming
competitively.
Early in high school I
began teaching swimming lessons which eventually carried me
into swim coaching where I strive to provide the
best possible instruction, encouragement and support for all
swimmers.
I joined SSCD in
September of 2009 and coach the Masters Group
swimmers.
